Tiger Turquoise Discus are omnivores and should receive a varied, nutrient-rich diet. High-quality discus pellets and granules can be supplemented with frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, bloodworms, and other nutritious frozen or prepared foods. Juveniles benefit from several smaller feedings throughout the day to support healthy growth, body development, and vibrant coloration.
Despite being cichlids, Tiger Turquoise Discus are generally peaceful and should be housed with calm tank mates that tolerate similarly warm water. Cardinal Tetras, Rummy Nose Tetras, Sterbai Corydoras, and other gentle community species can make excellent companions. Aggressive, fin-nipping, or extremely active fish should be avoided.
