Rosy Loach (Petruichthys sp. "Rosy")
The Rosy Loach is a charming nano fish that has quickly become a favorite among aquascapers and planted aquarium enthusiasts. Known for its small size, peaceful nature, and constant activity, this delightful species brings life and movement to the lower levels of the aquarium. Its subtle rosy-gold coloration and social behavior make it an excellent choice for nano tanks, community aquariums, and nature-style aquascapes.
Unlike many larger loach species, Rosy Loaches remain very small and are completely peaceful, making them ideal companions for shrimp, rasboras, tetras, and other nano fish. They thrive in groups and are most enjoyable when kept in schools, where they display playful interactions and natural shoaling behavior. Their active nature ensures there is always something happening in the aquarium.
Rosy Loaches appreciate planted aquariums with driftwood, rocks, leaf litter, and plenty of hiding places. They spend much of their day exploring the substrate and searching for small food particles. A varied diet of micro pellets, crushed flakes, frozen foods, and live foods helps maintain their health and coloration.
