Because they rely heavily on algae for nutrition, they are best suited for established aquariums where their preferred food source is readily available. They are sensitive to sudden changes in water quality and should be acclimated carefully.
The Lettuce Sea Slug is completely reef safe and will not harm corals or fish. However, it should not be housed with aggressive fish, wrasses, puffers, triggerfish, or other animals that may view it as food. Gentle water flow is recommended to prevent injury, and care should be taken to protect powerhead intakes.
