Leopard Synodontis is a spotted, bottom-dwelling catfish with a distinctive look and plenty of personality. Provide a spacious, well-filtered aquarium with hiding places and a soft, sandy substrate to help protect its sensitive barbels.
• Adult size: Varies by species; confirm the exact identification before purchase. Many Synodontis grow to around 6–12 inches. • Aquarium: Plan for at least 75 gallons for a mature fish, with more space for larger species or groups. • Water: Stable, warm tropical conditions; aim for approximately 75–82°F and check species-specific needs. • Diet: Offer a varied diet of quality sinking pellets or wafers, supplemented with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms and insect larvae. • Temperament: Compatibility depends on species and tankmates. Choose similarly sized fish and avoid small fish that may be viewed as food.
A cycled aquarium, steady water quality, and regular maintenance support a healthy environment.
