Although generally less aggressive than some other Peacock Bass species, Kelberi are still predatory fish and will consume any tank mate small enough to fit in their mouths. They are best housed with other large, robust species such as arowanas, bichirs, stingrays, large catfish, datnoids, and other sizable South American predators. They are highly intelligent, often recognizing their owners and becoming interactive during feeding time.
