Dwarf Chain Loach The Dwarf Chain Loach is a small, peaceful bottom-dweller ideal for established freshwater aquariums. Reaching just 1-1.5 inches, this species features distinctive chain-like markings along its body and thrives in groups of 6 or more. They're excellent scavengers, feeding on algae wafers, sinking pellets, and small invertebrates. Provide plenty of hiding spots with driftwood and plants, along with soft substrate for natural foraging behavior. These loaches prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with moderate flow and temperatures between 72-82°F. A 20-gallon tank minimum is recommended for a small group, making them suitable for intermediate aquarists seeking active, engaging community fish.
