Asian Bumblebee Catfish (Pseudomystus siamensis)

In the aquarium, it thrives in setups with caves, driftwood, smooth rocks, and dimly lit hiding places where it can rest during the day before becoming more active after lights out. Fine sand or smooth gravel is recommended to protect its sensitive barbels.
Asian Bumblebee Catfish are carnivores that eagerly accept sinking carnivore pellets, frozen bloodworms, mysis shrimp, blackworms, chopped earthworms, and other meaty foods. While juveniles may occasionally eat prepared foods during the day, they typically become more nocturnal as they mature. Feeding after the aquarium lights are off helps ensure they receive adequate nutrition.
Although generally peaceful toward similarly sized fish, the Asian Bumblebee Catfish is an opportunistic predator and may consume very small fish or shrimp that can fit into its mouth. Ideal tank mates include larger tetras, rainbowfish, gouramis, barbs, peaceful cichlids, and other medium-sized community fish.
