Apistogramma Hongsloi

Apistogramma hongsloi is a captivating dwarf cichlid prized by experienced aquarists for its striking coloration and complex behavioral patterns. Native to South American blackwater habitats, this species displays vibrant red and yellow hues, particularly during breeding season. These territorial fish thrive in well-planted tanks with plenty of hiding spots and prefer slightly acidic, soft water conditions. Hongsloi are carnivorous and require high-quality live or frozen foods to maintain optimal coloration and health. Best kept singly or in established pairs, they make an excellent centerpiece for specialized biotope aquariums.
