At Natural Environment Aquatix (NEA), we’ve always been dedicated to providing the best experience for aquarium enthusiasts in Jacksonville. For years, our Dunn Avenue location has been the heart of our business, helping customers create and maintain thriving aquatic ecosystems. However, as our community and vision grew, we realized that it was time to expand. That’s why we made the exciting decision to open a second location on Old St. Augustine Road in December 2024.

Why Expand?

Opening a second location wasn’t a decision we made lightly. We wanted to ensure that we could bring something bigger, better, and more accessible to our customers while maintaining the exceptional service we’re known for. Here are some of the key reasons behind our expansion:

1. More Space to Grow

The new Old St. Augustine Road location is significantly larger than our Dunn Ave store. This added space allows us to offer:

• A wider variety of fish, including saltwater species, which were not available at Dunn Ave.

• More aquariums on display for sale, making it easier for customers to find the perfect setup.

• An expanded selection of aquatic supplies, catering to both beginners and experienced hobbyists.

• A small but growing houseplant section, for those who love greenery beyond the tank.

2. A New, High-Traffic Area

While Dunn Avenue has served us well, it is located in an older part of Jacksonville where foot traffic in the shopping center has slowed over the years. The Old St. Augustine Road area, on the other hand, is a bustling retail hub, giving us the opportunity to reach new customers and better serve our existing ones.

3. A Better Shopping Experience

With the additional space and a fresh, modern layout, our new location allows for an improved shopping experience. Customers can browse comfortably, compare aquariums, and explore our expanded product selection in a way that simply wasn’t possible before.

4. The Demand Was There

Over the years, we’ve had many customers asking for a store in a more central or southern part of Jacksonville. By opening on Old St. Augustine Road, we’re making it easier for customers from different parts of the city to visit us, without having to drive across town.

Are We Closing Our Dunn Ave Location?

A question we’ve been getting a lot is: Does this mean we’re closing the Dunn Ave store?

The answer for the next few years is no! Our Dunn Ave location remains an important part of NEA. It’s where we built our foundation, and it continues to serve a dedicated customer base. While the new location offers more space and selection, Dunn Ave is still a trusted spot for quality aquatic products and services.
